| DVD Project |
This is the planning page for the DVD Project. The DVD is a training video for the organizations and groups that become a part of Fellowship Connect. This is just a work page. It is not the final layout for the video. I am simply laying out a possible plan and any input would be great. Let me know if you have anything you feel we should add into the training video. Once the DVD is finished it should cost about $1.50 to produce and send one to a group.
The DVD will have a menu selection. The following sections are what will be on the DVD.

Conquer Fears
Societies imagery of the prison system, of inmates, and of prison culture. Realistic/Non-realistic. Generally societies image of the prison system and its culture is fairly tainted. Recent shows and movies portray prison life, often at its worse, because that is what sells. The redemptive qualities that exist within the true correctional system are not portrayed.
Examples of redemptive qualities: Art, Treatment, PAWS, WHISKERS, Habitat for Humanity, Orchard Crews, Community Center, Locks of Love participation, Religious Programming and participation.
Overcome Barriers to Successful Living
Non-Condemning
People who are incarcerated or leaving incarceration have experienced a general seperation from society as a result of their incarceration. Society tends to shut itself off to those that offend, which is understandable in any culture. The church as a whole will often take the same stance as society. But the church is given the mandate by Christ to create an atmosphere of reconciliation and repentance. We should re-iterate the idea here that we are not talking about a condoning attitude toward wrongdoing. But people leaving incarceration have a need to understand that the church is a place of acceptance, forgiveness and hope for a new life, which is what Jesus accomplished at the cross. And the people in the church are the only ones that can portray this part of Christ. There is a song by the band Casting Crowns which says the following: "If we are the body, why aren't His arm's reaching, why aren't His words teaching, why aren't His hands healing"
Non-Enabling
This is the flipside of being non-condemning. Many times the curch gets involved with individuals and tries to help them, but holds them to no particular type of accountability. We are dealing with adults. They have experienced consequences for their actions in the past. As we work toward helping them to re-integrate into society and the Church, we have to establish reasonable programs to ensure that they.....
Establish Godly Realtionships
Understanding Friendship and the rpoper parameters in relationships and how we are to live and act around other people.
Christ Centered Foundation
Jesus said that unless a man builds his house on the rock, the laborer builds the house in vain. The very attitudes and thinking of an individual must be changed in order for their life to change. This can only be done at the heart level. The bible states that "If any man is in Christ, he is a new creatin". Fellowship connect helps this process work by directly linking people to the following types of activities:
Mentoring Biblical Teaching Biblical Preaching Gender Centered Wisdom - Men's and Women's bible studies Christ Centered Recovery Programs
The Cross
This is the ultimate goal of Fellowship Connect. The desire of every participating group and organization should be to point the people we are helping to the cross. When we as humans fully recognize the fullness of what Jesus did for us at the cross, there is nothing in life that we cannot face. At the cross we find:
Forgiveness for our sins Reconciliation Power to change - Repentance Change at the heart level Hope for our future

| Fellowship Connect Plan |
Explain the District Model of Fellowship Connect and how it relates to the DOC District Model. The District Leadership concept will probably be scrapped. Less leaders, less hassles! We will probable call the District leader and County leader positions a different name, but nonetheless, it will be explained here.
|
| The Application Process |
Both applications processes will be explained. Organization and inmate applicant.
|
| The Organization Process |
We will have several possible models for interaction in the section explained. There will be an emphasis on two particular types. A strong committment model and a casual committment model. These models need to be added to the website.
